Timisoara, July 21, 2021 - Hațegan Attorneys announces an internal reconfiguration of the team from a pyramidal structure to a horizontal structure. This decision is part of the continuous efforts of the law firm to innovate and change the paradigms specific to the legal sector in Romania.
The new horizontal organizational structure adopted by the Hațegan Attorneys is composed of teams focused on functional areas specific to the experience of team members. Thus, the focus is especially on the spcialized area of the team members who, in recent years, have had a greater exposure to certain areas of activity and have a full involvement in that area of practice without excluding their involvement in other projects to further ensure their diversed professional development
COLLABORATION and COMMUNICATION
Teams collaborate between practices by sharing information, ideas and expertise, while each team member is empowered and responsible of his or her side of the project. In this spirit, Hategan Attorneys adopts an open door policy so that every team member, regardless of title, position or seniority, can be approached by anyone. It provides a working context based on open communication and exchange of ideas.
DIVERSITY
The purpose of adopting this new structure is to create diversity for individual growth within the organization. The management will continue to be provided by Ioana Hațegan, as Managing Partner, together with the Leadership Group. As for organizing the activity of Hategan Attorneys, this will have a horizontal organizational structure, aligning the law firm with the current international trends. Thus, the acknowledgment of the efforts focuses on the experience and capabilities of the individual, rather than on their title and position.
CREATIVITY
This new configuration encourages teamwork, collaboration and creativity of each member (skills and values which have constantly been promoted within the company) while keeping the focus on the uniqueness, the individuality and the growth potential which each team member is valued for. The teams serving our clients are formed according to the volume of activity necessary for the respective project and the areas of practice incident to the project.
RESPONSIBILITY
In an horizontal organization, the decision-making process is totally different from a pyramidal hierarchical organization. While certain strategic and development decisions remain the responsibility of the Leadership Group, professional decisions are taken by interdisciplinary collaboration among team members. Thus, Hațegan Attorneys promotes an increased involvement of team members in the decision-making process and a greater degree of professional responsibility of each individual.
The lawyers from the Hațegan Attorneys team appointed as leaders of various practicea, assuming full responsibility for the practice, are:
Alina Iosza - Leader Real Estate and PPP
Florina Mattick - Insolvency and SME Leader
Galina Gheorghe - Litigation Leader

"Law firms have been operating according to a set of specific paradigms of organization, structuring and collaboration for a very long time. It is well-known that law is a field that is more reluctant to embrace innovation. What the recent months have shown us is that the paradigm we are used to must change because people, social contexts and work patterns are very fluid in our century and require adaptability to the needs of new generations and increased agility. Hategan Attorneys responds to international trends in the legal sector and announces the adoption of the horizontal organizational model to promote the free professional development of team members, multidisciplinarity and collaboration within the team and among teams. Thus, we encourage everyone to be a leader in the true sense of the word, a leader of his career, putting at the service of clients and the team his or her unique skills, experience and knowledge gained personally. for the success of the projects he is part of, with a high degree of decisional autonomy and responsibility ”said Ioana Hațegan, Managing Partner, Hategan Attorneys.

Corporate benefit in upstream security
We have often encountered instances when foreign parent companies require their Romanian subsidiaries to grant security for banking transactions and conclude corresponding security agreements over their assets according to the Romanian law, also known as upstream security.
Hategan Attorneys assisted the 212 venture capital firm from Turkey in their negotiations to acquire stake in the Romanian start-up, 123 Form Builder.
The 212 VC firm specializes in investment in the technology and IT sector. So far, it has invested in companies such as App Samurai and Insider. With the new transaction, the fund takes his place on the management board of 123 Form Builder, with the vision of stimulating an even faster growth of the company and consolidating its market position.
Digital and legal are two words that can hardly be found in the same sentence. Whenever they are together, they refer to the legal implications of the digital world. However, the reverse effects are hardly talked about or acknowledged. The digital impact in the legal sector is yet to take effect in a more serious, value-added, paradigm-shifting way.
